It’s November 10th and once again I find myself making the 2 hour trip from my home up to Brian and Tara’s. The drive goes by quick with the anticipation of the next 4 days of hunting. Early the next morning Brent and I are setup on a ridge between 2 bedding areas. Once it turns light we immediately start seeing deer. All morning there were bucks chasing does and  about 10:00 AM a buck we call Josher came within bow range but I couldn’t get a shot at him. That afternoon Brent left to go hunt on his land so Ryan and I hunted the marsh and saw 3 shooters that were out of range.  The next morning the wind was right so Brent and I set up in the same stand as the day before. Brian and Ryan were set up on a ridge a few hundred yards from us and Tara and Adam where set up about 80 yards from us. The plan was that hopefully one of us would get a shot at Josher. Once it turned light we were all seeing a lot of action. Around 9:45 AM we saw a buck named Muley about 80 yards from us heading in the direction of Brian. A little after 10:00 AM we got a text from Brian that he had just shot a nice 8 pt. Around 10:15 AM I noticed a doe headed our way about 90 yards away and Muley was not too far behind her! They followed the ridge right to us and I finally had the chance to use my Mathews Z7 Extreme. The Muzzy tipped Easton did their job and he went down within 40 yard of us! What a day in the woods – 2 bucks down within minutes of each other. I cannot put the feelings that were going through me into words. Muley is the biggest buck with my bow, I had my oldest son Brent filming me and come to find out Tara and Adam saw the whole thing happen from the tree they were in and Adam got it all on film! I have a lot of great hunting memories  but this one is right at the top of the list!!

Note: For those of you that aren’t familiar with hunting in Wisconsin, when we harvest a deer, we have to take it to a registration station, where they put a red metal tag to signify that the deer was registered.
